You are the shop. There is no audiobook gatekeeper.
Gumroad sells the file you upload. It does not review narration the way Audible does. The buyer is someone you send, or someone who finds the product on Gumroad.

Market
Gumroad is a creator shop, not an audiobook retailer. It will not put you on an audiobook chart or inside a listener’s subscription.
Its share of the audiobook market is not measured by the Audio Publishers Association. The sale is as large as your own audience.
That is also the advantage. When a bookstore refuses a synthetic voice, a direct shop still can.

Files they prefer
Upload the single complete MP3, or the zip of chapter files from The Listening Room. Buyers download what you attach.
The studio’s files are already MP3 at 44.1 kHz and 192 kbps, with ID3 tags and a note inside the chapter zip.
Write on the product page that the narrator is synthetic, and name the voice (Leo, Eve, or whichever you chose). Do not imply a human performer.
Money
Gumroad’s own pricing page is the binding fee. Guides that checked Gumroad’s help in September 2026 described a direct sale as 10% plus 50 cents, with card processing on top, and a higher rate when the sale comes through Gumroad Discover.
There is no monthly rent on the ordinary plan. You are paid by Gumroad after their payout rules, including any minimum.
You set the price. A direct buyer is not spending an Audible credit, so price it as a download, not as a credit.
What else to know
You own the customer only to the extent Gumroad’s tools allow. Download their buyer export if you want a list you can write to.
Sales tax and VAT handling is part of why people use a shop like this. Confirm what Gumroad files for you in your country.
This does not replace a bookstore listing. It sits beside Kobo or Google Play if those shops also take the book.
